Key Responsibilities

Internal Audit Planning and Execution

• Plan and execute internal audits by developing annual audit plans and schedules.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify audit priorities and prepare audit programs.
• Coordinate with departments on audit timing and ensure comprehensive audit coverage.

Risk Assessment and Control Evaluation

• Assess risks and evaluate controls by identifying business risks and control weaknesses.
• Test control effectiveness, compliance, and operational efficiency.
• Provide independent assurance on risk management and control environments.

Audit Fieldwork and Testing

• Conduct substantive testing, sampling, and analytical procedures.
• Review documentation, conduct interviews, and gather audit evidence.
• Validate compliance with policies and test financial and operational controls.

Insurance Operations Auditing

• Review underwriting processes, claims handling, and reinsurance arrangements.
• Audit premium collection, policy administration, and actuarial processes.
• Ensure insurance operational integrity and compliance.

Financial Auditing and Reconciliation

• Review financial statements, transactions, and account reconciliations.
• Test revenue recognition, expense allocation, and investment accounting.
• Ensure financial accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Compliance and Regulatory Audit

• Review compliance with UAE Insurance Authority and Central Bank regulations.
• Assess Solvency, Capital Adequacy, AML, and KYC controls.
• Audit regulatory reporting and corporate governance standards.

IT and Systems Audit

• Review IT general controls, system access, security, and data integrity.
• Assess IT change management, system interfaces, and cybersecurity controls.

Fraud Detection and Investigation Support

• Identify red flags, fraud indicators, and conduct fraud risk assessments.
• Support fraud investigations and recommend fraud prevention controls.

Audit Findings and Reporting

• Document audit observations, prepare detailed findings, and write comprehensive reports.
• Present findings to management, track responses, and communicate audit results.

Follow-Up and Remediation Tracking

• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and conduct follow-up reviews.
• Maintain audit issue trackers and report on remediation status.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in internal audit, preferably in insurance or financial services.
• Professional certifications such as CIA, CA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent are strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of internal audit methodologies, standards, and risk assessment frameworks.
• Understanding of UAE insurance regulations, Insurance Authority requirements, and Central Bank standards.
• Experience in auditing insurance operations, including underwriting, claims, and reinsurance.
• Proficiency in audit tools, data analytics, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
• Currently based in the UAE.
• Immediate availability to join is preferred.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in internal audit within the insurance or financial services sector in the UAE.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment, control evaluation, and audit execution.
• Experience with regulatory compliance audits, including AML, KYC, and Solvency requirements.
• Knowledge of IT general controls and systems auditing.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in audit documentation.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple audit assignments.
• Experience with audit management software is a plus.
